New Roof Fundraising Initiative 

Leonard Stanley Village Hall is absolutely stunning inside and out! The building itself is of great architectural interest, whilst the inside has undergone major tasteful refurbishment and redecoration over recent years. 
 
 
 
 
 
However, the roof is in urgent need of replacement, including new insulation, guttering and repointing, plus internal reconfiguration to extend the social club facilities, as well as installation of broadband and WiFi facilities. 
The anticipated cost of this will be in the region of £40,000, so we have therefore started an ambitious fundraising campaign, with the goal of starting the building works in Spring 2024. 
 
The trustees of the village hall created a Fundraising Committee at the beginning of 2022, led by the chairman of trustees. This committee has responsibility for raising all necessary funds in support of the proposed New Roof project. The village hall’s treasurer (also a trustee) is monitoring and managing all the funds raised, and these funds are all being paid into a dedicated bank account that has been established specifically for this purpose and intentionally kept separate from the village hall’s regular operating bank account. 
When the necessary funds have been secured and the project is ready to start, a prime contractor will be selected by the trustees and will then assume responsibility for all aspects of the project’s implementation, with regular oversight (monthly review meetings, etc.) by a steering committee comprising three trustees: the chairman, the treasurer and one other trustee with relevant expertise. 
 
Any unbudgeted expenditure or projected implementation overruns, etc., will be flagged up by the chosen prime contractor during the monthly reviews with the village hall’s steering committee. No expenditure, changes in scope or implementation delays will be permitted unless they have received the prior approval of the village hall’s steering committee.

FIVE VALLEYS DOG SHOW & SUMMER FAYRE - SATURDAY JULY 27th - 11am 
(This event is jointly in aid of Leonard Stanley Village Hall new roof fund & Leonard Stanley's St. Swithun's Church heating fund)
